September 23-25, 2016- Doubletree Suites by Hilton-Downtown in Columbus, OH
The International Black Women’s Congress (IBWC) is a global community of women of African descent bound by our ancestral spirituality. Our vision is to bring forth exemplary models of African womanhood by defining ourselves, embracing ourselves and improving ourselves through social, political and economic empowerment.
The 32 nd Annual IBWC Conference theme, What About the Children: A Global Perspective, continues the second year of addressing the United Nations Decade for People of African Descent 2015-2024. We realize that our children are our future. Therefore, we want to make sure that we discuss and analyze the status of our children from a global perspective and view them from various vantage points. IBWC is concerned about the continuity of the socialization process. We want to know to what extent can Black families still raise their children with the norms and values of their ancestors? What safe guards have we put in place to shield our children from the individualistic values of western society and the harsh realities of living in a world that devalues their lives?
These and other key issues will be addressed. We look forward to your attending the conference. If you are interested in presenting at the conference, pleasefollow the instructions below.
The conference will be held at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Downtown-Columbus, OH. The conference will begin on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 9 am and will end on Sunday, September 25, 2013 at 2 pm. We have negotiated an excellent hotel rate of $139 single or double.
