Healing Black Women From Violence:
Reclaiming Our Rightful Place

Register now for the 27th IBWC Conference, September 23-25, 2011 at the Holiday Inn - Baltimore Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland.

Black women have endured centuries of physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and structural violence. Too often they are forced to ignore this violence and are expected to jump back into life without addressing the circumstances of their violation, without dealing with the scars and wounds they carry, and without knowing how to recover their self worth or heal their spirits.

This conference will provide a safe and supportive environment for women to begin the healing process, realizing that healing is ongoing. We have assembled a profound group dedicated to healing Black women. They come from the fields of psychology, social work, sociology, and cultural studies. They are ministers, counselors, writers, massage therapists, aroma therapists, poets, singers, prayer warriors, laughter therapists, dancers, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The goal of the conference is to help Black women realize that they can live in dignity, regain their voices, reclaim their power, and take their rightful places. Come join us and let the healing begin!

Who Should Attend:

This conference is designed for Black women and girls who are survivors of violence, professional women who deliver services to violence survivors, social workers, health care providers, family counselors, church leaders, nurses, pastors, teenagers who are exposed to date violence, criminal justice professionals, women exposed to HIV and violence, and anyone who has a genuine interest in healing women who have been abused.
